What a great Drive and Dine the club had on Wednesday.

Margaret Laney picked a

• Great restaurant BJ Boondocks

• A great back roads drive to Howey in the Hills

• A great day – warm and sunny

• And great friends/members

Twenty fellow British Motoring club members made the event and after last week’s cold weather it was great to look out over Little Lake Harris.

Also, it was nice seeing the cars out again in the parking lot, and a fun ride back to the Villages.

The Austin Healey, TR 6, MGB and McLaren drew a lot of attention at the restaurant.

The next Drive and Dine will be on Thursday February 5. It will start at Mulberry Recreation center and the restaurant will be Fish Camp Restaurant in Tavares (on Route 441).

It will be a short drive around Lake Yale to Fish Camp Restaurant on Lake Eustis (about 30 miles of back roads)Directions for the tour will be given out at Mulberry Rec Center.

1. Come drive the tour with your British car

Saturday night at Brownwood Paddock Square the Car Club Showcase ( January 24) four of our club members (who are also in the Convertible club) will be showing their cars, so come out and see Greg Panjian (Rolls), Bill Oppold (Bentley),Steve Van Ness (MG), and SteveJekogian

( Austin Healey).

This was a Drive and Dine event to the Appleton Art Museum in Ocala on Feb 27th. We started a guided tour at 11:30 am at the museum and we have a reduced entry rate of $6.00 per person. Afterwards we went to lunch. Drive your British car or daily driver. We met first at the parking lot at Mulberry Rec Center at 10:15 am so we could drive together.

Lunch was at the Flying Boat Tap Room 9672 SE 35th Ave, Bellview. 1:15 PM, 25 people. Feb. 27

Type of Event - 2024 Brits on The Square 3rd annual British Car Show

Place - Waterfront Inn Hotel and Lake Sumter Landing Town Square

Date - Oct. 4th, 20242024 Brits on the Square Video Watch our Show Video

Results - Good Time was had by all...BRITS ON THE SQUARE - Day of Show Registrations and Participant Check In will be held in the Event Registration Room of the Waterfront Inn from 11 noon to 1 PM. Credit Card, Cash or check only day of show.

Stay for a BBQ Lunch by the Pool from 12-2PM. All show participants will be given a Goody Bag, Special Gift, windshield Plaque, Judging Ballot and instructions for staging/judging prior to the show.

Advanced Registration this year is $25 per judged car up till Sept. 27th. Day of show is $30 per car.

Park at the Hotel front Parking Lot for staging and Judging area from 11 Noon-3:30 PM. We will proceed up to the Lake Sumter Town Square around 3:45PM.

THIS YEAR WE ARE JUDGING ALL CARS PRIOR TO THE SHOW....FROM 12-2 PM

After receiving your ballot at check-in all Judging MUST be done between 12 PM and 2 PM in the hotel main parking lot. Awards will be given out before you drive up to the square. In addition, there will be three Best of Show Awards announced from the stage pavilion at 8PM.

In addition , we have invited a new member, Randy Banger (1958 Rolls-Royce) to show us his car and meet some members to see what the club is like.
Randy is the owner of an auto repair shop locally that works on British cars called Randy’s Hippie Hideaway, located in Oxford, Florida.

Type of Event - Club Car tour and Poker Run

Place - All Around The Villages

Date - April 24, 2024

Results - British Car Poker Run 2:45 – 5:15 (Approximately)
Drive your British Car or daily driver leisurely through The Villages (approx. 16 mile route), playing Poker for cash prizes (1st, 2nd, 3rd.) Open to all Club Members, both Villages Residents and Non-residents. Guests who fit in a Member’s car are also welcome. How it works: purchase a game tally sheet for $10.00 at the start location, Manatee Recreation Center Parking Lot. Limit is two (2) sheets per player. Draw your first card at the starting point, then follow the map provided to the additional 4 stops, (Moyer, Odell, Canal and Saddlebrook Rec. Center lots) drawing a card at each location to fill out your hand. Upon completing all stops, proceed to the endpoint, Glenview Country Club. At the endpoint you may purchase a maximum of two (2) additional cards per tally sheet, for $5 each, to improve your hand. Tally sheets are turned in and winners are determined. Enjoy socializing with Club Members in a reserved semi-private room, ordering food and drink from the menu while waiting for the final tally sheets to be turned in, scored and the winners announced and prizes awarded.

British Automobilia donations to help the

membership. Also, awards were presented
to members who went above and beyond
to help with the British Invasion Car Show
& Festival.

Details were presented for our Dec 8th meeting and Holiday party. Bring your spouse or friend to share in our festivities. The business meeting will last only an hour or so. Chuck Culver demonstrated how to navigate our website at: villagesbritmotoring.com.
Dues were collected for 2022 as Cash or check for $20.00.

There was a silent auction of books and pictures that have been donated. Please bring your own donation too. It can be a book, car part, or anything related to British motoring. The club will use the proceeds to present better programs in the future.
Three individuals were honored at the meeting for donating their time, resources and talents to the club in 2021. Come to find out who they are!

Well, the cruise-in last night was nostalgic, because I’m heading North tomorrow to sell one last house! Judie and I will be lifers in The Villages then!
