The club has rented a pavilion at Lake Griffin State Park for May 7th, Tuesday, for the day. Bring your British car to the park. It is only 8 miles from Sumter Landing and has plenty of parking! If the old buggy isn't working bring anything.
Accommodations: Covered pavilion. picnic tables, grills, restrooms, walking trails, corn hole games all under a tree canopy overlooking the inlet to the lake. The park no longer rents kayaks or canoes. Pets are welcome. No alcohol is allowed in the picnic area.
Timing: We will start the picnic at noon. We have the pavilion until dusk. Stay as long as you want
Provided by club: Charcoal for grills, bottled water, ice, cold cups Participants bring: their own picnic main course (precooked/cold/or ready to grill) and a side dish to share. Also bring cooking & eating utensils, plates etc, Any non alcoholic beverage you choose, chairs. Any games you may want to play.
Costs: The club is paying for the pavilion.
The park admission is $5 per car up to 8 people per car. Pay at the gate in cash. Pontoon boat tour: We can arrange for a 1 hour pontoon boat tour of the lake. The tour is led by a local who talks about the flora/fauna/history of the lake system. The cost is $25 per person. Max occupancy 22. To do this we need to have 22 people signed up and paid through the web site by May 1st in order to arrange for a private tour.
